ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi dead: Reports

London: A statement published in ISIS’ mouthpiece said that Baghdadi had been killed by coalition airstrikes on Raqqa.


The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in an air rain in Syria by US-led coalition, several media reports said.

Baghdadi reportedly died in an air strike in northern Sryia’s Raqqa, Iranian state media and pro-government Turkish daily Yenis Safak said.

A statement published in the group’s Arabic mouthpiece al-Amaq said, “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed by coalition airstrikes on Raqqa on the fifth day of Ramadan.”
