Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan has released worldwide on April 15 and has opened to great reviews. Not just that, the film also had an opening of Rs 19.20 crore on Friday which is by far the best in 2016.
The film collected another Rs 16 crore on Saturday and added another Rs 17.75 crore on Sunday, taking its three day domestic nett total to around a decent Rs 53 crore. There has been a decline in the film’s collections and given that films of this genre have a limited audience, the no-songs and no-romance concept seemed to have not gone down well with the massy audience.
Although people who have watched it have given the film a thumbs up, there is a huge section of the audience who have not watched the film yet, especially in key mass centres.
But nevertheless, the team has reasons to smile. The film has been working wonderfully well on a global level. The film opened to magical numbers overseas and the film which released in over 1100 screens, has now grossed over 100 crore worldwide. In total, Fan has recorded an opening weekend gross of Rs 113 crore, which is good. It now needs to be seen how the film works during the weekdays.
