Pratyusha Banerjee’s suicide has reignited the issue of depression and suicide.
Bollywood producer Karan Johar spoke out saying it is a wake-up call to discuss mental health issues. On Tuesday, Bollywood veteran Hema Malini too said that one should not succumb under pressure and take one’s life.
Now, Pratyusha’s ‘friend’ Rakhi Sawant has a very novel idea to stop suicide cases from happening in the country.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Rakhi said that to avoid suicide, the government of India should ban ceiling fans altogether. And to prove her point, Rakhi had a white ceiling fan in her hand and kept brandishing it for added impact.
She requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban ceiling fans.

Rakhi further claimed that she has proof in the form of a video which will prove that Pratyusha’s suicide was not a suicide. Several TV actors who claim to have been Pratyusha’s friends have come forward and held press conferences to present their side of the story. Rakhi followed their suit on Tuesday.
Rakhi said that Rahul Raj Singh’s ex-girlfriend had forwarded a video to her which is the proof that it was not a suicide. She is yet to submit that video to the Mumbai Police.
Rakhi also said at the conference, which was named ‘Lautkar aao Pratyusha’ (Come back Pratyusha), that Rahul used to torture her. She added that she had asked him not to do so.
The Mumbai Police on Tuesday booked Rahul on abetment of suicide and assault cases based on the statements given by Pratyusha’s family and friends.
