Kharagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paused during his speech at an election rally here in West Bengal for over five minutes, on hearing the sound of azaan (Call For Worship) from a mosque nearby.

Resuming after the azaan ended, he said “Azan was going on…because of us, one’s prayers shouldn’t get interrupted. So I decided to take a brief rest.” (Azaan chal rahi thi, hamare kaaran ki kisi ki puja, prarthna mein takleef nahi honi chahiye isiliye maine kuchh pal viraam le liya, said Modi)

In the video, PM Narendra Modi can be seen addressing a jam-packed audience.

Addressing a poll rally here on Sunday, he said, for the last 40 years, the ruling Trinamool and the Left have ‘destroyed’ the state.

He sought people’s support for BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections and asked the gathering to keep Bengal’s interest foremost in the coming election.
