O.Panneerselvam, senior AIADMK leaders hold talks with small parties

A day after he paid a visit to the Poes Garden residence of the AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa, senior party leader O. Panneerselvam came to the party head office with senior colleagues on Saturday and held meetings with small political outfits seeking alliance with the AIADMK .

Besides Mr. Panneerselvam, Natham R. Viswanathan, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, R. Vaithilingam, P. Thangamani and S. P. Velumani were among the leaders, who met representatives of various small forums at the AIADMK head office at Royapettah .

“Six leaders spoke to us and we are hopeful of getting the number of seats we have requested. However, we would be happy with any number of seats Amma would give us,” said a leader of a small caste-based forum, emerging out of the meeting. Republican Party of India, All India Forward Block and the Tamil Nadu Kongu Youth are some of the parties that have extended support to the AIADMK.

A senior representative of another forum said they had complete confidence in the policies of the ruling government and would like to contest the May 16 Assembly polls.
