Pro-Tuki MLA supports Pul

Itanagar : –  With the installation of a new government in Arunachal Pradesh, chief minister Kalikho Pul has been trying to garner the support of legislators belonging to predecessor Nabam Tuki’s ‘camp’.

Likha Saaya, a pro-Tuki MLA, has already offered support to Pul, the chief minister announced in an impromptu press conference at Hotel Donyi Polo Ashok. Flanked by Saaya, Pema Khandu, Thangam Wangham, Kameng Dolo and Honchun Ngandam, Pul said 12 more Congress MLAs were expected to join him for a strong and stable government in the state.Responding to Tuki’s allegations that his government was unconstitutional, Pul said, “The government can never be unconstitutional. The one who has the requisite numbers will form government.” “In my two terms as MLA, I have believed in the able leadership and vision of Pul. I told this to former chief minister Nabam Tuki on several occasions. I believe in Pul’s leadership and will continue to support him wholeheartedly,” said Saaya. He, however, clarified that he was under no pressure to choose between Tuki and Pul. He added that he had sought the approval of the people of his constituency before extending support to Pul.
