Modi invites sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik to train Gujarat youth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday invited Odisha’s sand sculptor Sudarshan Pattnaik to train Gujarat youth in sand art.

Mr. Pattnaik met the Prime Minister who visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri.

He also presented the Prime Minister a photo of a sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath which was done by him during the Nabakalebara (re-embodiment) festival.

“The Prime Minister invited me to train sand art to the youngsters of Gujarat. I have promised Prime Minister to open a sand art training institute in that State,” Mr. Pattnaik told reporters after meeting Mr. Modi in Puri.

“It is a great honour for me to meet our PM Narendra Modiji. The PM told me that he knows me very well and he has seen my ‘Welcome to Odisha’ sand art,” Mr. Pattnaik said.

Pattnaik had created a sand art titled “Welcome to Odisha”, ahead of Mr. Modi’s visit to the State.
