Pathankot: One more person was injured on Sunday during combing operations at the Pathankot air base in Punjab.


The person was hurt while defusing a bomb, in the course of combing operations by the army and security agencies.

4 terrorists, reportedly belonging to the JeM were killed on Saturday in an operation that began early in the morning.

Terrorists attacked the IAF air base at 3:30 am on Saturday, with the intention of destroying army equipment like airplanes and helicopters and killing personnel.

Three army men have been martyred in the attacks so far.

The NIA team has reached the air base to begin investigations.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that three jawans died in hospital last night, taking the total number to six.

Three jawans have also been injured today when a device went off while it was being defused.

Also, nine jawans have been injured so far.

Spokesperson, USA Bureau of public affairs John Kirby has condemned the terror attacks in India.

“US strongly condemns terrorist attack on an air force base in Indian state of Punjab on Jan 2. US is committed to our strong partnership with Indian Govt to combat terrorism”, he said.
