DDCA row: Arun Jaitley files defamation case against Kejriwal, AAP leaders

New Delhi: The political slugfest over DDCA affairs intensified on Monday as Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley filed defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders for accusing him of corruption in Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA), which he headed for 13 years till 2013.

The BJP leader filed the defamation cases against AAP leaders at the Patliala House court.

According to reports, the cases were filed against Kejriwal and four other AAP leaders including Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai.

Kejriwal and the five AAP leaders have publicly been making allegations against Jaitley with regard to the DDCA affairs although some of the allegations have gone beyond that.

Jaitley has accused them of issuing false and defamatory statements against him and his family members.

He has also rubbished allegations against his family members, saying, “I have no family member who has even one paise interest in any form of business. Why should my family be part of a sports management business?

Meanwhile, AAP is also set to file an FIR against Jaitley over alleged alleged financial bungling corruption in the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA)

BJP MP Kirti Azad, who has been campaigning against alleged corruption in DDCA, had on Sunday addressed a press conference but did not take the name of Jaitley, under whose charge as president of DDCA he claimed there were financial bunglings.

The footage also purportedly showed Jaitley defending the the DDCA office bearers who were being questioned by Azad on alleged financial bunglings.

While on Monday morning, Azad dared Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to file a defamation case against him.
