Having been used to wearing the canary yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings, India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is getting ready for a life beyond his hometown in the cash-rich Indian Premier League as Pune or Rajkot franchise will buy him in two days time.
Sanjiv Goenka’s ‘New Rising’ are owners of Pune franchise while Keshav Bansal’s Intex successfully bid for Rajkot in a reverse bidding process held in New Delhi on December 8. “In three days time, Pune or Rajkot will be my new summer destination. Looking forward to a new beginning and more challenges,” Ashwin wrote on his twitter page.

Then with a bit of modesty, India’s most successful bowler in Test matches this season, wrote about the improbable. “If I don’t make it to both of these teams, I will go into the auction. Does not matter who picks me, all I need is new challenges. No stagnating,” the Chennai-born spinner said.
With lowest bid of Rs -10 crore, Goenka’s ‘New Rising’ will get a first go at India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
