Actor-turned-politician Nagma, who was recently appointed as General Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress, seems to have run into some political rough weather in Tamil Nadu. She was recently in the state for both personal and political reasons.
Nagma attended the birthday bash of her younger sister Jyothika (who is married to actor Suriya) on October 18. The next day she was off to Pondicherry for her official work.
However on October 16, she tweeted that she had to cancel her trip to Thoothukudi as she hadn’t met the Congress State Mahila President Vijayadharani.
A report in The News Minute states that Vijayadharani was allegedly upset that she hadn’t been informed about Nagma’s visit to the state. She was also upset that former actors Khushbu and Nagma had been appointed in senior posts in the Congress when she had been looking to further her growth in the Mahila Congress, the report says. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee members allegedly started to discuss the ‘rift’.
Political circles were abuzz with rumours that all was not well in the Mahila Congress but Nagma, Khushbu and Vijayadharani attended a press conference recently where they stated they would work together to bring back Congress rule in Tamil Nadu.
