Special Report: 13th no Villupuram LokSabha Constituency, State of Tamil Nadu

Villupuram, March 27, Sandipan Sarma: In this special report of LokSabha Constituency today I will try give a brief look on Villupuram Constituency of Tamil Nadu, which is situated in southern India.

Villupuram

This Constituency is consists of 6Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC). They are as follows:

1. Tinidivanam

2. Vanur

3. Villupurum

4. Vikravandi

5. Tirukkoyilur

6. Ulundurpettai

Session 1962 (R. Reddiar):

In this edition of LokSabha election R. Reddiar was selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner R. Reddiar (INC) got 133358 votes while his rival K. Gondur (SWA) got 123348 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 12330 (4.12% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 473320, from which 323361 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 313366, from which rejected votes were 11335.

Session 1967 (T. Naidu):

In this edition of LokSabha election T. Naidu was selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner T. Naidu (DMK) got 164404 votes while his rival L. Narayan (INC) got 164401 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 244 (0.16% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 464494, from which 350111 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 334405, from which rejected votes were 13116.

Session 1980 (P. Rama):

In this 1980 edition of LokSabha election P. Rama was selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner P. Rama (INC) got 151186 votes while his rival T. MunuSwamy (DMK) got 141716 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 11328 (2.18% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 20 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 734, average no of electors per polling station was 999.

Session 1984 (S. Eramaswamy):

In this 1984 edition of LokSabha election S. Eramaswamy was selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner S. Eramaswamy (INC) got 247663 votes while his rival M. Laxminarayan (JNP) got 1444111 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 98442 (19.43% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 33 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 833, average no of electors per polling station was 967.

Session 1991 (K. Rama):

In this 1991 edition of LokSabha election K. Rama was selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner K. Rama (INC) got 2033370 votes while his rival N. Dhaya (DMK) got 145338 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 55222 (8.24% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 22 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1332, average no of electors per polling station was 795.

Session 1996 (G. Venkataraman):

In this edition of LokSabha election G. Venkataramanwas selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner He G. Venkataraman(DMK) got 335513 votes while his rival K. Rama (INC) got 145548 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 195565 (23.86% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 22 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1466, average no of electors per polling station was 793.

Session 1999 (M. Ramachandran):

In this edition of LokSabha election M. Ramachandranwas selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner He M. Ramachandran(MDMK) got 433553 votes while his rival K. Ramamurthee (INC) got 284479 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 1473354 (19.27% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 14 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1433, average no of electors per polling station was 766.

Session 2004 (P. Dhanraju):

In this edition of LokSabha election P. Dhanrajuwas selected as a MP from Villupuram Constituency. As a winner P. Dhanraju(PMK) got 318558 votes while his rival A. Arun (ADMK) got 155586 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 164662 (20.11% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 20 no of contestants from Villupuram constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1214, average no of electors per polling station was 1022.
