Special Report: 8th no Vellore LokSabha Constituency, State of Tamil Nadu

Vellore, March 27, Sandipan Sarma: In this special report of LokSabha Constituency today I will try give a brief look on Vellore Constituency of Tamil Nadu, which is situated in the India.

This Constituency is consists of 6Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC). They are as follows:

1. Vellore
2.Anaicut
3.Kuppam
4.Gudiyattam
5.Ambur
6.Vaniyambadi

Session 1967(Kuchelar):

In this edition of LokSabha election Kuchelar was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner Kuchelar (DMK) got 168114 votes while his rival A. Jaya (INC) got 168111 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 213 (0.16% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 463114, from which 351181no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 331105, from which rejected votes were 13811.

Session 1977 (V.Dhnadayu):

In this edition of LokSabha election V.Dhnadayu was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner V.Dhnadayu (NCO) got 320110 votes while his rival A. Samad (IND) got 61105 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 251145 (66.19% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 5 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 611, average no of electors per polling station was 911.

Session 1980 (A. Samad):

In this 1980 edition of LokSabha election A. Samadwas selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner A. Samad (IND) got 151116 votes while his rival V.Dhnadayu(JNP) got 151186 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 22311 (5.98% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 20 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 711, average no of electors per polling station was 911.

Session 1984 (A. Shan):

In this 1984 edition of LokSabha election A. Shan was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner A. Shan (ADK) got 247113 votes while his rival A. Ramalingam (DMK) got 114161 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 92252 (19.19% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 33 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 822, average no of electors per polling station was 922.

Session 1991 (A. Pasha):

In this 1991 edition of LokSabha election A. Pasha was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner A. Pasha (INC) got 200220 votes while his rival P. Shan (DMK) got 145228 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 55222 (8.86% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 22 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1222, average no of electors per polling station was 822.

Session 1996 (P. Shan):

In this edition of LokSabha election P. Shan was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner He P. Shan (DMK) got 332213 votes while his rival A. Pasha (INC) got 142248 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 192265 (23.22% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 21 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1422, average no of electors per polling station was 793.

Session 1998 (N. Shan):

In this edition of LokSabha election N. Shan was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner N. Shan (PMK) got 327330 votes while his rival T. A. Md. (DMK) got 275339 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 52061 (6.33% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 11 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1339, average no of electors per polling station was 733.

Session 1999 (N. Shan):

In this edition of LokSabha election N. Shan was selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner He N. Shan (PMK) got 434433 votes while his rival Md. Asif (ADMK) got 283379 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 143354 (19.67% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 14 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1339, average no of electors per polling station was 733.

Session 2004 (K. Mohideen):

In this edition of LokSabha election K. Mohideenwas selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner K. Mohideen(DMK) got 318338 votes while his rival A. Santhnam (ADMK) got 1533386 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 163362 (20.32% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 20 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1233, average no of electors per polling station was 1032.

Session 2009 (AbdulRahman):

In this edition of LokSabha election Abdul Rahmanwas selected as a MP from Vellore Constituency. As a winner He Abdul Rahman(DMK) got 304908 votes while his rival Vasu (ADMK) got 228767 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 76389. There were total 23 no of contestants from Vellore constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1159, average no of electors per polling station was 980.
