Session 1967 (P.Singh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election P.Singh was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner P.Singh (INC) got 72870 votes while his rival S.Singh (BJS) got 39740 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 33130 (25.35% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 253012, from which 135164 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 130712, from which rejected votes were 4452. There were total 8 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session.

Session 1971 (Pratap Singh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Pratap Singh was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Pratap Singh (INC) got 136789 votes while his rival R.Phul (NCO) got 9238 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 127551 (81.54% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 420268, from which 160840 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 156429, from which rejected votes were 4411. There were total 5 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session.

Session 1977 (Balak Ram):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Balak Ram was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Balak Ram (BLD) got 172763 votes while his rival Z.Singh (INC) got 85472 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 87291 (32.66% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 465720, from which 273489 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 267300, from which 6189 rejected votes were. There were total 3 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1048, average no of electors per polling station was 444.

Session 1980 (Krishan Dutt):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Krishan Dutt was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Krishan Dutt (INC) got 136841 votes while his rival Balak Ram (JNP) got 101707 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 35134 (13.10% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 523977, from which 272407 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 268286, from which rejected votes were 4121. There were total 4 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1094, average no of electors per polling station was 478.

Session 1984 (K.Sultanpuri):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election K.Sultanpuri was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner K.Sultanpuri (INC) got 244010 votes while his rival Kirpal Dharampuri (JNP) got 47719 votes respectively. The margin of votes were : 196291 (64.08% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 3 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1214, average no of electors per polling station was 465.

Session 1989 (Krishan Puri):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Krishan Puri was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Krishan Puri (INC) got 201912 votes while his rival Balak Ram (BJP) got 144922 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 56990 (13.55% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 9 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1362, average no of electors per polling station was 527.

Session 1991 (Krishan Puri):

In this 1991 edition of Lok Sabha election Krishan Puri was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Krishan Puri (INC) got 209406 votes while his rival Roop Kashyap (BJP) got 162546 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 46860 (11.58% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 7 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1364, average no of electors per polling station was 542.

Session 1996 (Krishan Puri):

In this1996 edition of Lok Sabha election Krishan Puri was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Krishan Puri (INC) got 261965 votes while his rival Virender Kashyap (BJP) got 170832 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 91133 (19.57% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 9 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1567, average no of electors per polling station was 564.

Session 1998 (Krishan Puri):

In this 1998 edition of Lok Sabha election Krishan Puri was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Krishan Puri (INC) got 307861 votes while his rival V.Kashyap (BJP) got 265836 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 42025 (6.73% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 5 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1691, average no of electors per polling station was 538.

Session 1999 (Dhani Ram Shandil):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Dhani Ram Shandil was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Dhani Ram Shandil (HVC) got 264002 votes while his rival Gangu Musafir (INC) got 217072 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 46930 (9.38% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 6 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1691, average no of electors per polling station was 559.

Session 2004 (Dhani Ram Shandil):

In this 2004 edition of Lok Sabha election Dhani Ram Shandil was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Dhani Ram Shandil (INC) got 311182 votes while his rival Hira Kashyap (BJP) got 203002 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 108180 (20.46% of Total Valid Votes).

Session 2009 (Virender Kashyap):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Virender Kashyap was selected as a MP from Shimla Constituency. As a winner Virender Kashyap (BJP) got 310946 votes while his rival Dahni Shandil (INC) got 283619 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 27327. There were total 7 no of contestants from Shimla constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1890, average no of electors per polling station was 582.
