Dhanbad, March 24, Lok Sabha: In this special report of Lok Sabha Constituency today I will try give a brief look on Dhanbad Constituency of Jharkhand, which is situated in eastern India.

This Constituency is consists of 6 LegislativeAssembly Constituency (LAC). They are as follows:

1. Bokaro
2. Dhanbad
3. Chandakiyari
4. Jharia
5. Nirsa
6. Sindri

Session 1957 (P.Bose):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election P.Bose was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner P.Bose (INC) got 67095 votes while his rival K.Pal (CPI) got 28436 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 38659 (27.70% of Total Valid Votes). There were 8 total no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session.

Session 1962 (P.Chakravati):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election P.Chakravati was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner P.Chakravati (INC) got 75170 votes while his rival S.Trigunait (SWA) got 50964 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 24206 (12.18% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 7 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session.

Session 1967 (L.Lakshmi):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election L.Lakshmi was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner L.Lakshmi (JKD) got 68034 votes while his rival A.Sharma (INC) got 47767 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 20267 (10.89% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 9 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session.

Session 1971 (Ram Sharma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Ram Sharma was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner Ram Sharma (INC) got 107308 votes while his rival V.Mahto (CPM) got 36385 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 70923 (30.68% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 15 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session.

Session 1977 (A.K.Roy):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election A.K.Roy was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner A.K.Roy (IND) got 205495 votes while his rival R Sharma (INC) got 63646 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 141849 (47.45% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 13 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 761, average no of electors per polling station was 887.

Session 1980 (A.K.Roy):

In this 1980 edition of Lok Sabha election A.K.Roy was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner A.K.Roy (IND) got 136280 votes while his rival Y.Prasad (INC) got 120974 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 15306 (3.85% of Total Valid Votes). In this edition of Lok Sabha election A.K.Roy was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner A.K.Roy (M-COR) got 247013 votes while his rival S.Singh (BJP) got 233442 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 13571 (2.13% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 9 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1280, average no of electors per polling station was 903.

Session 1991 (Rita Verma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Rita Verma was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner Rita Verma (BJP) got 257066 votes while his rival A.Roy (M-COR) got 171767 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 85299 (14.70% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 40 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1287, average no of electors per polling station was 909.

Session 1999 (Rita Verma):

In this 1999 edition of Lok Sabha election Rita Verma was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner Rita Verma (BJP) got 366065 votes while his rival A.K.Roy (MCO) got 351839 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 14226 (1.87% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 1433645, from which 771044 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 761461, from which rejected votes were 9583. There were total 10 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1851, average no of electors per polling station was 775.

Session 2004 (C.Dubey):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election C.Dubey was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner C.Dubey (INC) got 355499 votes while his rival R.Verma (BJP) got 236121 votes respectively. The margin of votes were119378 (12.68% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 19 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1539, average no of electors per polling station was 1137.

Session 2009 (Pashupati Nath Singh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Pashupati Nath Singh was selected as a MP from Dhanbad Constituency. As a winner Pashupati Nath Singh (BJP) got 260521 votes while his rival C.Dubey (INC) got 202474 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 58047. There were total 30 no of contestants from Dhanbad constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 2132, average no of electors per polling station was 846.
