Jamshedpur, March 24, Lok Sabha: In this special report of Lok Sabha Constituency today I will try give a brief look on Jamshedpur Constituency of Jharkhand, which is situated in eastern India.

This Constituency is consists of 6 LegislativeAssembly Constituency (LAC). They are as follows:

1. Potka
2. Baharagora
3. Ghatsila
4. Jamshedpur East
5. Jamshedpur West
6. Jugsalai

Session 1957 (M.K.Ghosh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election M.K.Ghosh was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner M.K.Ghosh (INC) got 57063 votes while his rival E.Dacosta (JHP) got 47460 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 9603 (5.97% of Total Valid Votes. The total no of elector was 399840, from which 160822 no of electors voted.

Session 1962 (U.Mishra):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election U.Mishra was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner U.Mishra (CPI) got 75000 votes while his rival N.Mukherjee (INC) got 55195 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 19805 (11.35% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 435297, from which 181726 no of electors voted.

Session 1971 (Sardar Singh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Sardar Singh was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Sardar Singh (INC) got 48073 votes while his rival Kedar Das (CPI) got 47867 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 206 (0.12% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 602867, from which 180720 no of electors voted. There were total 12 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session.

Session 1977 (Rudra Pratap):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Rudra Pratap was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Rudra Pratap (BLD) got 131419 votes while his rival V.Gopal (INC) got 67666 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 63753 (24.33% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 575923, from which 269834 no of electors voted. There were total 13 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 647, average no of electors per polling station was 890.

Session 1980 (Rudra Pratap):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Rudra Pratap was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Rudra Pratap (JNP) got 91847 votes while his rival V.Gopal (INC) got 81390 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 10457 (3.33% of Total Valid Votes).There were total 21 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 834, average no of electors per polling station was 797.

Session 1984 ( Gopoeshwar):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Gopoeshwar was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Gopoeshwar (INC) got 196965 votes while his rival T.Manjhi (CPI ) got 130763 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 66202 (15.37% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 17 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 919, average no of electors per polling station was 819.

Session 1989 (S.Mahto):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election S.Mahto was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner S.Mahto (JMM) got 140006 votes while his rival C.Bagchi (INC) got 131122 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 8884 (1.72% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 9 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1024, average no of electors per polling station was 931.

Session 1991 (S.Mahto):

In this 1991 edition of Lok Sabha election S.Mahto was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner S.Mahto (JMM) got 205296 votes while his rival A.Singh (BJP) got 149049 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 56247 (11.02% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was, from which no of electors voted. Total valid votes were, from which rejected votes were. There were total 23 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1112, average no of electors per polling station was 867.

Session 1996 (B.Janardan):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election B.Janardan was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner B.Janardan (BJP) got 221702 votes while his rival () got votes respectively. The margin of votes were. The total no of elector was, from which no of electors voted. Total valid votes were, from which rejected votes were. There were total 39 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1511, average no of electors per polling station was 753

Session 1998 ( Abaha Mahto):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Abaha Mahto was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Abaha Mahto (BJP) got 296686 votes while his rival Russi Modi (IND) got 199253 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 97433 (13.63% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 724308.Total valid votes were 60562. There were total 21 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1511, average no of electors per polling station was 768.

Session 2004 (Sunil Mahato):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Sunil Mahato was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Sunil Mahato (JMM) got 396056 votes while his rival Abhi Mahato (BJP) got 290423 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 105633 ( 13.60% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 23 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1197, average no of electors per polling station was 1146.

Session 2009 (Arjun Munda):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Arjun Munda was selected as a MP from Jamshedpur Constituency. As a winner Arjun Munda (BJP) got 319620 votes while his rival Suman Mahato (JMM) got 199957 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 119663. There were total 26 no of contestants from Jamshedpur constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1626, average no of electors per polling station was 848.
