Session 1951 (Abdul Ibrahim):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Abdul Ibrahim was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner Abdul Ibrahim (INC) got 43576 votes while his rival Ajit Banarjee (SP) got 32185 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 11391 (8.53% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 344542.

Session 1957 (M.R.Masani):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election M.R.Masani was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner M.R.Masani (JHP) got 39025 votes while his rival I.Ansari (INC) got 36785 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 2240 (1.98% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 336924 .

Session 1962 (P.Ghosh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election P.Ghosh was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner P.Ghosh (SWA) got 43256 votes while his rival I.Ansari (INC) got 38233 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 5023 (3.75% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 373768, from which 142294 no of electors voted.

Session 1971 ( P.Ghosh):

In this 1971 edition of Lok Sabha election P.Ghosh was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner P.Ghosh (INC) got 79497 votes while his rival Rudra Pratap (BJS) got 63077 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 16420 (8.95% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 546790, from which 189739 no of electors voted. There were total 12 no of contestants from Ranchi constituency in this session.

Session 1977 ( Ravindra Verma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Ravindra Verma was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner Ravindra Verma (BLD) got 130938 votes while his rival Sheo Prasad (INC) got 68222 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 62716 (23.48% of Total Valid Votes). There were total 19 no of contestants from Ranchi constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 655, average no of electors per polling station was 881.

Session 1980 (Shiva Sahu):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Shiva Sahu was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. In this edition of Lok Sabha election S.Sahay was selected as a MP from Ranchi Constituency. As a winner S.Sahay (JD) got 163919 votes while his rival Ram Tahal (BJP) got votes 148933 respectively.
