Jammu, March 24, Lok Sabha: In this special report of Lok Sabha Constituency today I will try give a brief look on Jammu Constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, which is situated in northern India. 42.Jammu_html_m119fc94a This Constituency is consists of 15 LegislativeAssembly Constituency (LAC). Session 1967 (I.J.Malhotra):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election I.J.Malhotra was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner I.J.Malhotra (INC) got 139036 votes while his rival A.Rehman (BJS) got 80868 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 58168 (20.26% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 440581, from which 297653 no of electors voted.

Session 1971 (I.J.Malhotra):

In this 1971 edition of Lok Sabha election I.J.Malhotra was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner I.J.Malhotra (INC) got 169009 votes while his rival A.Rehman (BJS) got 84213 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 84796 (30.12% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 483472, from which 292392 no of electors voted. There were total 9 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session.

Session 1977 (Baldev Singh):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Baldev Singh was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner Baldev Singh (IND) got 153837 votes while his rival B.Puri (JKN) got 125898 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 27939 (8.10% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 601007, There were total 9 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 807, average no of electors per polling station was 744.

Session 1980 (G.Dogra):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election G.Dogra was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner G.Dogra (INC) got 249760 votes while his rival Baldev Singh (JNP) got 115503 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 134257 (33.57% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 691358. There were total 9 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 963, average no of electors per polling station was 717.

Session 1984 (J.R.Gupta):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election J.R.Gupta was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner J.R.Gupta (INC) got 262796 votes while his rival S.Salaria (JKN) got 142604 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 120192 ( 21.27% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 811828.There were total 16 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1152, average no of electors per polling station was 704.

Session 1989 (J.R.Gupta):

In this 1989 edition of Lok Sabha election J.R.Gupta was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner J.R.Gupta (INC) got 239701 votes while his rival R.Singh (JD) got 218006 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 21695 (3.78% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 1026600, from which no of electors voted. Total valid votes were, from which rejected votes were. There were total 12 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1312, average no of electors per polling station was 782.

Session 1996 (Mangat Sharma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Mangat Sharma was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner Mangat Sharma (INC) got 194228 votes while his rival Vaid Dutta (BJP) got 147495 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 46733 (8.24% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 1206499. There were total 30 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1504, average no of electors per polling station was 802.

Session 1999 (V.D.Sharma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election V.D.Sharma was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner V.D.Sharma (BJP) got 289412 votes while his rival R.Singh (JKN) got 147393 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 142019 (21.33% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 1446792, from which 676708 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 665921, from which rejected votes were 10787. There were total 22 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1610, average no of electors per polling station was 899.

Session 2004 ( Madan Lal Sharma):

In this edition of Lok Sabha election Madan Lal Sharma was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner Madan Lal Sharma (INC) got 319994 votes while his rival Nirmal Singh (BJP) got 302426 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 17568 (2.14% of Total Valid Votes). The total no of elector was 1849989, from which 823081 no of electors voted. Total valid votes were 821670, from which rejected votes were 1411. There were total 24 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 1822, average no of electors per polling station was 1015.

Session 2009 (Madan Lal Sharma):

In this 2009 edition of Lok Sabha election Madan Lal Sharma was selected as a MP from Jammu Constituency. As a winner Madan Lal Sharma (INC) got 382305 votes while his rival Lila Sharma (BJP) got 260932 votes respectively. The margin of votes were 121373. There were total 21 no of contestants from Jammu constituency in this session. No of Polling station was 2210, average no of electors per polling station was 767.
