No ‘Zero-Hour’ for now in Himachal House, says Speaker

SHIMLA, February 2, Somitr Keshav: The Himachal Pradesh Assembly has decided to provide earphones to the members during the budget session commencing on February 3. Himachal MLAs will be using the earphones for the first time in its history.

The Assembly Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail turned down the demand for a ‘zero-hour’. No decision has been taken to start “zero-hour” as it needs a thorough study and the final decision for the future will be taken after holding consultation with the State Government and the Leader of Opposition, apart from looking into its significance, he said.

The session will commence on February 3 and will begin with an address by the Governor Urmila Singh. The supplementary budget will be presented the same day. There will be total of 14 sitting with the last one scheduled for February 21. The budget will be presented on 7 and passed on February 19.
