Odisha, February 1, Abhijit Saha: The All India Congress Committee has planned the visit of Congress Vice President and campaign committee Chief Rahul Gandhi to Odisha before the visit of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
While Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on 11th February, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit on 9th and 10th of February. This information was released by MP Bhakta Charan Das senior leader of Congress. Das is representing Kalahandi District in the Lok Sabha.
During this two day visit Rahul will attend six meetings in the state including Berhampur, Cuttack, Talcher, Jajpur, Khariar, and Bisam, said by Mr. Das. Sources said that party chief Sonia Gandhi is also supposed to join adivasi adhikar rally at Kalahandi. They also said that they will not visit Bhubaneswar city.
Nevertheless Jaydev Jena President of Odisha Pradesh Committee has said that Rahul will visit Odisha in February but no date has been fixed till now. He also said that people here are having emotional attachment with Rahul and Sonia and so Narendra Modi’s visit will have no impact on the people of Odisha.
The source said that Rahul Gandhi was earlier supposed to visit Odisha in the first week of February, but due to Rajya Sabha Elections on 7th February, he has postponed his plan later on.
BJP has started collecting funds for the meeting by introducing Rs. 50, Rs. 100, Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 coupons from today.
The vice president of BJD Mr. Kalpataru Das says that poll prospect of their party will not be affected by the visit of these two national leaders as the people of his state are well acquainted with the character of both BJP and Congress party.
