Naroda Patiya massacre: Court permits convicted VHP leader Babu Bajrangi to leave Gujarat

New Delhi(WEB TEAM): The special trial court hearing the 2002 Naroda Patiya massacre case on Tuesday granted permission to Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Babu Bajrangi to leave the state and go to Gurgaon for medical treatment between June 2 to 8.

Judge PB Desai passed the order.

Bajrangi had applied to the court on April 30 through his lawyer Chetan Shah for permission to go outside Gujarat as he wanted to get treatment at a private hospital in Gurgaon for his acute diabetes.

He is one of the 83 accused in Naroda Patiya massacre case. Eleven persons of the minority community were killed in the riot in Naroda Gam on February 28, 2002, during post-Godhra riots in Gujarat.

He has been sentenced to life in Naroda Patiya massacre case.

He is out of jail since April 24 this year after the Gujarat High court granted him bail for 90 days for eye treatment.
