Fame might be the India’s first live video entertainment app

Mumbai,Krishna Bahirwani: Fame, the digital entertainment network, has launched India’s first live video entertainment application. Currently in beta, #fame is available on iOS and Google Play, enabling performers to beam live to fans and audiences using their smartphones. To generate enough content for its audiences, #fame plans to bring on-board more than 50,000 skilled and amateur performers targeting over 10 million downloads over the next six months.

Built keeping the youth in mind, the #fame app offers a diverse portfolio of live and video-on-demand (VoD) original digital content. From celebrities and skilled talent to enterprising amateurs, the content on the application straddles a wide portfolio of genres including comedy, entertainment, live events, fashion, music, technology, food and citizen journalism amongst others. The application comes packed with a host of features including – social sharing, live chat and fan-based communities directly integrated into the application to create engagement between the performers and their audiences.

Since its launch in Sep 2014, #fame has concentrated it’s efforts in the digital entertainment space in India, its debut market. The network has has been developing digital shows and properties and is one of the India’s largest creators of original digital video content. Apart from the mobile application, #fame’s digital video network spans several digital and social platforms including YouTube, Facebook, WeChat, Dailymotion amongst others. #fame strategically focuses on emerging and established talent to build digital video channels and communities around them.

fame has identified 5 additional markets in South-East Asia to build local digital video businesses. These include Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines. In terms of monetization, digital video has grown faster than social with a 56% Compound Annual Growth Rate in the last 3 years compared to around 40% for Social and hence shows huge potential.
