New Delhi(ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s eight-day, three nation visit to France, Germany and Canada, which begins later today, would ensure the promoting of economic ties, trade, infrastructure and co-operation in security/defence related matters.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is setting on a very important and a momentous foreign tour covering three major industrialised nations: France, Germany and Canada. They are all part of the G-7 countries and over the next few days, the Prime Minister’s visit would ensure his visit should help us promote economic ties, trade, infrastructure, co-operation in security/defence related matters,” BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao told ANI.
He said that all the visits of the Prime Minister so far have had a very strong impact on improving bilateral ties with major nations of the world. “At a time when India is growing fastest among the emerging economies, I think there is a great deal of interest about India all over the world,” Narasimha Rao said.
“The kind of policies that Prime Minister Modi has started and the kind of policy exuberance, policy dynamism that you see in the country today, I think has given a huge hope to the investors all over the world. We have just had some major bills passed in the process of parliament,” he added.
Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar had earlier on Wednesday told the media, “Prime Minister Modi will be travelling to France, Germany and Canada. A common theme of these destinations is that all of them are G7 countries: they are industrialised democracies. We have a considerable economic interest in partnering with these countries which is very relevant to our industrial programmes. We have a large political convergence with them.”
