New Delhi9WEB TEAM): Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday said she does not want to react to Union minister Giriraj Singh’s sexist remarks on the colour of her skin.

“I would not like to comment on people who have a narrow mindset,” Sonia told reporters during her visit to a village in Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh.

On Tuesday night, Singh, who is a Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet, said, “Had Rajiv Gandhi married a Nigerian woman and if she was not a white-skinned woman, would the Congress have then accepted her leadership?” The shameful remarks led to a massive outrage with the opposition parties, women’s groups and even the Nigerian envoy to New Delhi registering their protests and calling for the sacking of the Union minister and an apology from PM Modi.
