AIB Roast: Sonakshi Sinha lashes out after Mahesh Bhatt’s comments
Sonakshi Sinha has slammed Alia Bhatt’s father after the latter questioned why Sona’s name was missing from the FIRs being filed against the AIB Knockout event.
Ever since the AIB Knockout Roast premiered on YouTube, it has been embroiled in controversies. Along with the comedy group, some heavyweight names from Bollywood involved with the show have also been booked for propagating vulgar content on a public platform. From Karan Johar to Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, FIRs have been filed not just against the people who were directly involved with the Roast but also on those in the audience- including Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone among others.
But in a recent turn of events, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt made a strong statement, questioning the absence of Sonakshi’s name from the FIRs filed against the Bollywood celebrities. Bhatt saab expressed surprise when he saw that a particular FIR listed names of several Bollywood celebrities, except Sonakshi. The filmmaker said, “Alia was a participant and also subjected to the humour. The FIR names Deepika Padukone and Alia among the participants. Why not the other 3,998 attendees of the show? More importantly, if it names celebrities in the audience, why not Sonakshi Sinha?”
Not just that, Mahesh Bhatt also claimed that there are ‘certain forces orchestrating this series of events’, only adding that the answer lies in his question itself, indirectly pointing at Shotgun Junior’s father Shatrughan Sinha’s contacts with the party at the Centre.
I don’t remember my father questioning them as to how or why so. I do agree with u however, if these FIR’s (2/4)
Bhatt later replied to Sona’s tweets, seemingly appreciating the actress’s maturity.
AIB manufactured drama is the latter.
Sonakshi, who’s never shied away to show her Shotgun side to the world, is known to not take unnecessary criticisms casually. Once she heard of Bhatt’s comments, Sona took to Twitter to clear the confusion. She openly slammed Mahesh Bhatt for his statement, adding that there were many FIRs filed against her, in which Alia’s name was not mentioned and her father never questioned this.
