Threats to India growing due to ‘active border’; Pakistan supporting proxy war in J&K: Indian Army Chief

New Delhi(dna): Indian Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Tuesday said that threats and challenges to India are growing because of an ‘active border’.

Speaking to media, Dalbir Singh said, “Our threats and challenges have been growing because of the active borders. Pakistan is supporting proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir despite the number of casualties within their region.”

Referring to recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Dalbir Singh added, “Recent strike by terrorists indicate their desperation, also indicates that the camps that are there across the border are intact.”

The Army chief said that 110 terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014.

On the issue of Chinese intrusions, the Army Chief said “Border with China is peaceful; we are following policy of constructive engagement.”
