New Delhi, ( DNA ): Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls at an “Abhinandan” rally at the Ramlila Ground on Saturday. Top leaders including chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra and several Union Ministers are present for the rally.
Modi will be the face of BJP’s campaign in the city and the party feels the rally will help it build a momentum for the election.
BJP has been out of power in Delhi for the past 16 years and its Delhi chief Satish Upadhyay said the party was confident of winning the polls with a clear majority this time with the help of Modi’s charisma.

Addressing the rally, Amit Shah said, “The year 2014 will be known as ‘Vijay Varsh’ for BJP in the history of nation. We raised many issues and made promises during election campaign, now that we have formed government in Centre, we are working on all of them. The fuel prices have come down for more than ten times in 7 months, ever since BJP came to power. We are a Party that fulfils our promises.”
He further added, “Make in India is giving impetus to manufacturing and employment sectors. We have set up a separate Ministry to emphasise on skill development.”
Speaking about black money shah said, “We said we will bring back black money, we cleared proposal of setting up SIT. The issue of black money is a complex and not entirely in the hands of India.”
Taking on Opposition, Shah said, “If opposition thinks they can restrict the development of nation by hindering smooth functioning of Parliament, they are wrong.”

BJP president Amit Shah, national general (organisation) Ram Lal, Union ministers Arun Jaitely, M Venkaiah Naidu and Piyush Goyal will share the dais with Modi besides the seven party MPs from Delhi.
BJP has made a sitting arrangement of around 60,000 people at the venue, even as it has claimed that over one lakh people will be attending the rally.
Senior BJP leaders said that through Modi’s rally, party will also gauge the public mood which will help it prepare a strong-strategy for the assembly polls.
Security was tightened around the Ramlila Ground on Saturday before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming rally in the capital.
Prime Minister Modi will kickstart the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) campaign for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls at an “Abhinandan” rally at the Ramlila Ground, later in the day.
