Indian Parliament Live: Uproar in Rajya Sabha over conversion row; Janata Parivar stages protest against government over black money

New Delhi(IANS/ANI): For the seventh day, a united opposition on Monday created turmoil in Rajya Sabha demanding a reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on forcible religious conversions, leading to an adjournments before lunch.

BSP chief Mayawati condemned RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on conversion issue. she said, “I strongly condemn his comment, his statement his highly objectionable and against the constitution of our country.”

Mohan Bhagwat of the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, which is also the ideological wing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, had earlier said, “India was a “Hindu nation” where many Hindus had been forcibly converted to other religions. We will bring back those who have lost their way. They did not go on their own,”

Meanwhile, the Janata Parivar staged a protest against the government at Jantar Mantar over issues of Black money, unemployment, farmer issues and communal tensions in the country. The protest is being led by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
