New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is all set to deliver a speech on national television on the occasion of Vijayadashami. This will be aired on Doordarshan and other television channels on Friday. He will speak at Nagpur at 7: 30 PM at their annual function.
Mohan Bhagwat is the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, for National Volunteer Corps. He was chosen as the successor to KS Sudarshan in March 2009.
The RSS was founded in 1925 as an educational group to train men by character-building to unite the Hindu community and counter British colonialism in India. The group has since then taken political form and has various wings including VHP etc. The current BJP government which won the Lok Sabha elections with a thumping majority is considered a political offshoot of RSS.
