Panaji/Amethi, 27 July-2014, Indilens Web Team: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed BJP and Shiv Sena on their attempts to divide the country. Reacting to Goa deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza’s remark on ‘Hindu nation’, Gandhi said “There is no difference between BJP and Shiv Sena. Both are working to divide the country. Congress is fighting against this.”
D’Souza’s remark erupted a fury among Goa ministers. Goa’s local Concress and NCP demands D’Souza’s termination for such an insensible comment. “If the governor fails to act on our complaint, we will approach the court,” said Goa pradesh Congress committee president John Fernandes. “It is completely against the Constitution of India to spread the idea that we are a Hindu nation; our Constitution clearly states that we are a secular country,” he said.
