New Delhi, 8 March-2014(PTI): The Saffron party BJP on Saturday named 52 candidates to contest on the party ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The names of 20 candidates, out of the 28 parliamentary constituencies in Karnataka, were announced. Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S Yeddyurappa will contest from Shimoga, and another former CM, D.V Sadananda Gowda, is set to contest from Bangalore North.
The BJP also declared candidates for nine seats from West Bengal, three from Kerala, five from Orissa and two from Tripura.
The party named former Union Minister O. Rajagopal as its candidate from Thiruvananthapuram. BJP leader Ananth Kumar, who read out the list at a press conference in Delhi on Saturday, will face Congress nominee from South Bangalore, Nandan Nilekani.
The BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is still to be named. Another list of candidates will be announced on March 13. The party has so far announced 106 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections beginning from April 7.
