Bhubaneswar, 13 July-2014: Health Minister Atanau Sabyasachi Nayakon Saturday inaugurates call centre for 102 ambulance service in Bhubaneswar.
It should be noted that the state government on Friday launched `102 ambulance service’ under ‘National Ambulance scheme’(NAS) at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
This project was flagged off by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. 118 numbers of ‘Dial 102’ Basic Life Support Ambulances (BLS ) were dedicated to state.
“The objective of the project is to provide timely assured round the clock transportation services to pregnant women and sick infants of the state at free of cost. It is expected that approximately 13 lakhs beneficiaries will avail this service per annum and state govt. has planned to roll out 500 nos. of ‘Dial 102’ ambulances within 3 months,” said Ms. Rupa Mishra, Mission Director.
“The ambulances are fitted with GPS and are positioned in various strategic locations across the state to ensure 30 minutes response time to transport patients to health care facilities,” said Mr. P. K Mohapatra, Principal Secretary, Health Department.
In-order to provide 102 emergency Ambulance health care service to pregnant women and new born baby, the state Govt. had signed MoU with Mumbai based company Ziqitza Health Care Ltd on Feb 26, 2014.
