Rabat, 12 July-2014, IANS/AP: At least four people were killed and 55 left wounded when three buildings collapsed early Friday in Casablanca, the largest city of Morocco, not far from the Hassan II Mosque, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, Xinhua reported.
The accident occurred while most people were asleep, authorities said. The news agency MAP said the number of dead and wounded could rise, and rescue workers were still searching for victims several hours after tragedy.
Moroccan king Mohammed VI visited the site in the Bourgogne neighbourhood in Casablanca, and also met the injured people at the hospital. It was not immediately clear what caused the buildings in the Bourgogne neighbourhood to collapse.
