Mumbai, 3 July-2014, Mumbai Mirror: Industrialist Ness Wadia, who has been accused by his former girlfriend actor Preity Zinta of outraging her modesty, wrote a letter on Wednesday to the Mumbai police listing the names of nine witnesses he wants quizzed in the case.
In a letter addressed to the investigating officer at the Marine Drive Police station, Wadia described the charges levelled against him by Zinta as “false”. He also maintained that the people he named in his letter would provide the truth about what actually happened at Wankhede Stadium on May 30.
A senior police officer from Marine Drive police station said, “Wadia will be summoned for questioning within the next two days. If needed, we will also summon the people named in Wadia’s letter to record their statements.”
The people mentioned in Wadia’s letter are Serieka Lal, Loretta Joseph, Pooja Dadlani, Anneline Adams, Farah Oomerbhoy, Sweetie Burman, Kamlesh Shah, Rayaan Mustapha and Sharat Nath. This is Wadia’s first official communication with the cops after the FIR against him was filed on June 12.
Meanwhile, the cops have recorded the statements of 11 people, of which six are believed to be crucial. Businessman Jai Kanojia and Parul Khanna, in their statements, had said that they had seen the two having a heated argument and that Wadia grabbed her by the hand.
On a social networking site, Zinta rubbished allegations that she has an ulterior motive in filing the case. She also stated that she had earlier donated money to trusts run by the Wadias and even promoted their airline GoAir.
She also revealed that the stakes for Kings XI Punjab were bought using her money, of which the BCCI has proof.
