Raipur, 29 June-2014, TNN: Naya Raipur, the sprawling new state capital of Chhattisgarh, will emerge the country’s first smart city with most modern facilities, said NRDA chairman N Baijendra Kumar. Speaking at a conference ‘Chhattisgarh Buildcon-Future townships’ here on Friday evening, he said Naya Raipur is based on sustainability, a city which is greener, smarter and a livable city with a low stress-level for residents.

Organized by Futurex group, more than 200 delegates comprising representatives from various government agencies, builders and developers, architects, interior designers, civil engineers and corporates attended the conference %that focused on sustainability and green building% concepts. 

Speaking about development of Naya Raipur, Kumar said, “We had a vision of building Naya Raipur based on best models and practices all over the world and it is like a dream come true by seeing the plan in action.” 

He lauded the efforts of CREDAI in bringing a construction guideline booklet for the builders. 

Credai president Anand Singhania stressed the need for laying down policies in reference to water harvesting, solar energy and building structure. 

He said sustainability and green building concept is not expensive it just requires the inner willingness and sense of responsibility, adding that we are focusing more on sustainability than aesthetic sense. 

On the occasion, other participants spoke on eco-green Probase roads, a revolution in road technology, a ffordable housing, %architectural innovation and sustainability, energy conservation through plastics and windows sustainability.
