Kochi, 3 March, Sreeparvathy K.: Tanker Lorries and LPG trucks in Kerala has announced 24 hour strike in the state. The tanker lorries carrying petrol, diesel, kerosene, plane fuel, LPG, chemicals, furnace oil, tar, cooking oil and the LPG trucks is participating in the strike. The strike is called by the union of dealers, lorry owners and workers.
The strike demands to repeal of Transport Commissioner’s order to appoint 2 drivers and helpers in the tankers lorries servicing in Kerala and remove the restriction of not allowing the trucks to be driven in the peak time, from 8 to 11 in morning and 4 to 6 in the evening.
The striking members also demanded to remove the order to obtain certificate from the Medical Board while the Driving licence is renewed. They also demand that the heavy fine levied on the trucks should also be stopped.
