Bhubaneswar, 12 June-2014, Priyabrata Nayak: First session of 15th Odisha Assembly begins today at Bhubaneswar with the speech of Governor SC Jamir. In his address Governor Jamir outlines priority of the state government in next five years.
Governor Jamir said in next 5 years government will irrigate 10 lakh hectares of land. Governor Jamir said that the state government will convert thatched houses to pucca, bring out new policy for women development. He stresses need for the development of agriculture sector. He also said the state government will implement a complete policy on development of women.
He said that the state government will set up a medical corporation for the suppply of medicine. Jamir further added that the state government will build express highway in KBK area and South Odisha.
Governor SC Jamir highlights the various achievements of the State government. In his address, the Governor claimed that the State government had made remarkable achievements in accelerating economic growth and reducing poverty. Governor SC Jamir said that the state govt to bring out proposal for Labour Welfare Board for unorganised workers.
The Governor also said that the State government had been giving emphasis on improving the socio-economic condition of the weaker sections of the society, especially in the KBK districts.
