Bhubaneswar, 5 June-2014: Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Wednesday asked all the Chief District Medical Officers (CDMOs) to ensure that all patients visiting Government health centes under their jurisdiction get free medicines under a new scheme to be launched soon.
The Minister instructed to the CDMOs over videoconferencing on control of waterborne diseases at the Secretariat. “A much-awaited free medicine scheme will be launched at all Government hospitals soon. Negligence in proper implementation of the scheme will not be tolerated,” the Minister said.
The Minister also asked the CDMOs to take initiatives to check the spread of malaria, dengue, chikungunya and diarrhoea. Among others, Health Secretary PK Mohapatra and National Health Mission Director Roopa Mishra were present.
