A blue-eyed, blonde-haired Brazilian man who caught on to the plastic surgery craze while spending time in South Korea went under the knife to transform himself to look more Asian, The Korea Herald reports.
The 25-year-old, who goes by the name Xiahn, underwent 10 operations in Brazil, dyed his hair and began wearing contacts so that he could look Korean.
Xiahn spent time as an exchange student in Dongseo University, where his combined interests in Kpop, Korean dramas and the popularity of plastic surgery in the country inspired his transformation.
‘I put my fingers inside the eye and pulled. That was the way I wanted to have my eyes,’ The Daily Mail cited Xiahn as saying to the Brazilian newspaper Zero Hora.
“Koreans have many surgeries to modify the shape of their eyes and become more like Westerners. It was easy to tell when one of them had done it, walking on the street wearing sunglasses and a surgical mask,” he was quoted as saying.
Xiahn’s operations, pretty much the opposite of what Koreans typically look to have done, led to his quasi-celebrity status online. He’s garnered thousands of likes on his Facebook fan page and has appeared on a number of Brazilian TV shows.
Xiahn spent more than $3,000 on surgeries to achieve his final look, although a few commenters on Gizmodo have pointed out that the outcome resembles a Korean man whose had surgery done to seek a more Western appearance.
