Ranchi, 29 May-2014, TNN: Students of Ranchi University (RU) may get to study with their counterparts from across the world as part of the varsity’s initiative to make its students globally competitive. The varsity is eyeing a tie-up with a Spain-based academy to enhance its curriculum through transnational knowledge exchange.
The RU authorities met with a two-member team from International Tuning Academy, Spain to discuss the course curriculum that would help make students more competitive.
According to the RU authorities, Tuning Academy is a directorate European commission for education and culture study project that conducts a feasibility study, which helps universities understand and fine-tune their curricula in keeping with the changing economic and socio-political dynamics
The project is already underway in as many as 165 universities in 32 countries across Latin America, Africa and Europe. RU registrar A K Choudhary on Wednesday said the team of academicians provided inputs to for the curriculum that would help students interact with their counterparts in other continents.
“The Tuning project provides students and teachers the opportunity to interact with students from other countries and exchange knowledge in the field of research. This would be helpful in enhancing the quality of higher studies at universities across the country,” RU vice chancellor L N Bhagat said. “We are yet to decide about participating in this project and will hopefully come to a decision in the coming days,” he added.
The two-member team of Maria Jose Arroyo and Julia Gonzalez are eyeing a visit to the universities in Jharkhand and Kolkata to conduct the feasibility study in the coming days.
