CHANDIGARH, 29 May-2014, TNN: Days after Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Rohtak, Naveen Jaihind, criticized its top decision making bodies for poll debacle, the party on Wednesday sought explanation from him for “defaming” the leadership.
Jaihind had contested Lok Sabha elections against Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s son Deepender, but finished fourth and lost his security deposit.
A few days ago, Jaihind, who is also a national executive member, had blamed wrong ticket distribution for the poor performance of AAP in Haryana. He had alleged that dedicated activists and volunteers were ignored while distributing tickets.
In a communication to Jaihind, AAP’s national secretary Pankaj Kumar Gupta has asked him to explain his position to the parliamentary affairs committee within 48 hours.
“In the past couple of weeks, it has been observed that you participated in several meetings and made a series of statements and allegations in different public fora including social media… which have brought disrepute to the party,” Gupta said in the letter.
According to Gupta, Jaihind even presided over public meetings organized at Gurgaon, Kurukshetra and Hisar where the organization, leadership and party candidates were openly criticized.
“You gave interviews to the media in which you defamed the party and its leadership,” Gupta wrote to Jaihind.
