Jorhat, Feb 27, Jasmine Ahmed: When local passenger train in upper Assam’s Jorhat district was going in track, three elephants were killed as they were hit on Thursday.
Forrest Officials said, when the Guwahati-Tinsukia Intercity Express hit them as they were crossing the railway track at Venuguri village near Moriani Railway Station in a brood, three elephants were killed. And that time the elephants were rebound to their adjacent habitat Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary. During the accident an adult elephant was cut into bit, a calf died after it was lobed around 500 meters away due to the mishap. They said, one more adult elephant was dead misleading near the train track, forest group have reached there. Train’s movement was shortly disturbed on the avenue. A tiger, which was roaming from an altar, was also currently killed after being hit by a train during addition elephant was also killed at the place about six months ago.
