New Delhi, 24 May-2014: Aiming to capture a larger share of the ever-growing Smartphone market, the Cupertino giant Apple has launched the 8GB verison of its iPhone 5C in India at Rs 37,500.
The addition to its flagship series will hit the Indian markets over next few days.
Before India, iPhone 5C’s 8GB variant was launched in UK and France under partnerships with telecom operators O2 and SFR.
iPhone 5C was introduced to the Smartphone market with iPhone 5S last year in October.
As per industry analysts, Apple’s steep pricing of its products keeps it among the top 3 Smartphone market players.
The iPhone 5S’s 16GB version is sold for over Rs 46,000 while 32GB is being retailed for over Rs 62,000.
The colourful iPhone 5C was launched particularly for price sensitive markets like India and China. Its 32GB variant is available for over Rs 53,000.
Just like iPhone 5, the iPhone 5C sports 4-inch Retina display, Apple’s A6 chipset, 8MP rear camera with flash and a 1.2MP front-facing camera.
Beefing up the competition, Apple rivals Nokia, Motorola and Intex have launched Smartphone devices priced below Rs 12,000 in India.
