Odisha, February 25, Abhijit Saha: On Monday evening the Odisha Cabinet has approved Health Insurance Coverage for all state government employees in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister of Odisha benefiting about six lakh employees.
The chief secretary JK Mohapatra said the cabinet also decided to restructure the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) cadre. The service will eliminate 130 posts in the Junior Class-I Cadre and will make additional 90 posts in the Senior Class-I cadre, 11 posts in Superior Administrative cadre, 25 posts in the Super Time Scale cadre and four posts in the Special Secretary cadre.
Providing benefits to the State Election Commissioner (SEC) at par with the High Court judges and equal status with the chairman of the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has also been decided by the cabinet. The Cabinet has also decided to provide full grant to 926 ME schools that are currentlt receiving block grant.
The licenses of the existing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) off shops and country spirit shops have been extended by four months. Fees for license have been hiked by 20 percent. On 24th July last year, the High Court of Odisha scrapped off the notification issued by state government for allotment of liquor shop licenses through e-auction stating that it was not practicable and could not be implemented.
Mr. Mohpatra said that the complete excise policy for the year 2014-15 would be formulated later after the formation of the new government after general elections.
The cabinet also decided to gave its nod for up gradation of assistant engineers to assistant executive engineers which were pending due to litigation. The cabinet has cleared total eight proposals in the meeting.
