New Delhi, 13 May-2014, Abhijit Saha: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has commissioned a 600 MW capacity thermal power project at Angul in the state of Odisha.
This project was made to order by Jindal India Thermal Power Ltd’s two impending 600 MW Thermal Power Project at Angul and is a part of Rs 2,600 crore contract given to them by JITPL.
BHEL sources said that work on second Unit (600 MW) is progressing at top gear and will most likely be commissioned by the end of this year.
Till now, the company has contracted 21 sets of 600 MW units, of which 8 has already been commissioned.
After the Electricity Act 2003, the company has received a large number of orders from many big private developers like Jindal Power, Tata Power, JITPL, Bajaj Hindustan, Jaypee Group, etc.
