Mumbai, 22 Feb (Bollywoodmantra): IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders four years journey had been like a roller-coaster ride. After facing defeat for three consecutive years, finally the team lifted the IPL champion trophy in its fourth year. Discovery channel captured the historic win and hardship of the team and on watching the video, Shahrukh Khan got emotional. The four part documentary series has been named ‘Living With KKR’ and is screened in a suburban hotel here on Thursday. King Khan left with teary eyes on watching the documentary.
“I felt like crying…I had tears in my eyes when I was watching it, so I had to wear my glares. It’s a very emotional moment for me and I am overwhelmed,” he said.
The 48-year-old revealed that at no cost he and other partners – Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta – would never put KKR on the block. “We will never sell the team. It goes up and down with us. The players are like our children and now that we have won, we are all the more happy. I’ll never bail out no matter what,” said Shah Rukh. The Bollywood superstar spoke in length as why the franchise didn’t retain players from Kolkata.
“We wanted to be professional while finalising the squad. I love these guys, Laxmi, Manoj and Shami. In fact the higher price they got was because they flourished at KKR. The reason why we didn’t get them is because their prices kept soaring at the auction. At times, things do get out of hand.
But we do have Debabrata Das and a few other Bengal players.
SRK has been banned from entering Wankhede by the Mumbai Cricket Association and he said, “I would prefer to watch it on my 50 inch screen”.
