Bhubaneswar, 4 May-2014, Abhijit Saha: The Kings XI Punjab team of the IPL has reached Bhubaneswar on yesterday. They would play IPL matches at Barabati stadium in Cuttack on 7th and 11th May.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the two matched to be played at Barabati. All necessary measures were discussed thoroughly in the meetings held at twin city police commissioner’s office on Friday.
Police commissioner Rajendra Prasad Sharma had chaired the meeting. Senior police officers, IPL management, representatives of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Airport authority and officials from Hotel Mayfair Lagoon also attended the meeting. The players would stay at Hotel Mayfair Lagoon.
In the meeting, discussions have been made regarding the security arrangements of players from their arrival at Biju Patnaik Airport till their departure after the matches.
About 30 to35 platoons of police forces are expected be deployed to guard the players IPL, the celebrities and also to keep constant vigil on the stadium for preventing any unpleasant incident.
