Jorhat, 4 May-2014, Sandipan Sharma: A three-day national-level workshop on conservation of the Tai gathering of dialects, which finished up at Jaya Bhawan here today, mooted uniting all Tai dialects through vindication of the script and overcoming any and all hardships between diverse Tai groups.
Keshabananda Dihingia, a previous president of the Purbanchal Tai Sahitya Sabha and previous representative official of Haflong, said the workshop was the first of numerous which might put set up a component in which diverse Tai dialects — Tai Ahom, Tai Aiton, Tai Tutung, Tai Khamti, Tai Phake and Tai Khamhjang — might have the same script.
The workshop was supported by the Indian Council of Social Science and Research.
“The letters of the Tai Ahom dialect and different dialects are 90 to 95 for every penny comparative along these lines are the vocabularies. We need to begin a methodology in which all the letters of the letter set of the Tai dialects and words are incorporated through accord and make one Tai dialect,” Dihingia said.
