Srinagar, 2 May-2014, Peerzada Mansoor: Curfew continued for 2nd consecutive day today in various parts of Kashmir Valley and has effected thousands of students. According to sources thousands of students in Kashmir Valley have applied for several Universities across the country and ahead, and the last dates for their admission process has been scheduled on Monday (5th May).
Eyewitnesses said, AKIL BHARTIYA UNIVERSITY, Azadpur Delhi provides admission for various courses including Journalism and Fisheries but their last date for the submission of admission forms has not extended. Students across the Kashmir who are aspire to take admission in Akil Bhartiya University have appealed the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University to extend the last date for the submission of application forms and keep in view continued strikes and shutdowns in Kashmir Valley. Students said, we visited several times to post offices to post the admission forms but they were closed due to shutdowns and curfew. Shafat Ahmad, a student who aspire to take admission in Akil Bhartiya University, Azadpur Delhi, said we are facing immense hardships as our last date has not been extended. Shafat Ahmad also said, “I visited several times from the last two days by foot and visited Post Office Magam & Pattan Kashmir to submit my admission form but they were closed.”
