Kolkata, February 19, Sandipan Sharma: In an alternate occasion of rash driving via auto drivers in Kolkata, a senior native was killed in the wake of being purportedly thumped around an auto rickshaw in Jadavpur zone, police sources said today.
86-year-old Chittaranjan Saha was hit by an auto-rickshaw yesterday night time while crossing the Raja S C Mullick Road in Jadavpur region, the sources said.
Saha was initially conceded to Bagajatin S C Hospital, and was later conceded to M R Bangur Hospital where he passed on in the night.
Occurrences including auto rickshaws have been on the ascent recently. Prior on January 16, a lady official was supposedly punched in the face and left draining by an auto rickshaw driver at Park Circus.
Auto rickshaws, which are contract carriages, professedly run unlawfully as state carriages on altered ways without meters and charge charges discretionarily.
Transport Minister Madan Mitra had said the administration might press non-bail able charges to rein in maverick auto rickshaw drivers and prevent them from cheating travelers.
